Last Friday (April 8th) was a very special day for us, it was a day when justice was finally done. “But what justice are you talking about? ” You are thinking.
It's very simple, it was the day we recovered our Instagram account @greatiamwear, we say we recovered because this had been taken from us precisely by Instagram (Meta) on January 6th, more than 3 months ago! It was as simple as one day arriving at the office and the account we had been working on since 2013 had disappeared, without any apparent reason or justification to go with it.
Since that day we have been somewhat helpless, after all the account in which we invested so much time and money had been usurped by Instagram itself, which a few days later simply said that we disrespected Instagram's policies, “WHICH?” – We asked – The answer was deafening silence.
As stubborn as we are, we put on our galoshes and went into the mud to fight Instagram, with daily contacts trying to obtain justifications, letters sent and even visits to Facebook's headquarters, now Meta. Fruitless.
In between, we used a backup account that became our main one, we continued to work but with a divided focus as our objective was to recover the main account.
On April 8th an email finally arrives, very short by the way.
And that's how suddenly everything came back!
When we asked why we had been banned, the answer was: “Meta reserves the right not to share the reasons”. Short.
Today we know that this decision had an impact on the business, it made us learn and change methods but most importantly, happy to be able to count on the entire community that followed us and without whom we wouldn't be here.
If you are in a similar situation, the only advice we can give you is: INSIST.
You must be able to reach the right person!
